Shelly Terrill

With 29 years of experience practicing law in North Texas, Shelly has built a reputation for providing thoughtful, skilled, and compassionate legal counsel to individuals and families navigating some of life's most challenging moments.

Her practice focuses on all aspects of family law, including divorce, child custody and conservatorship, child support, and adoption matters.

Before dedicating her practice to family law, Shelly developed a strong foundation in complex financial and bankruptcy matters, representing both debtors and creditors and serving as a staff attorney for a Chapter 13 Trustee.

That background gives her a distinct advantage in family law cases involving significant assets, business interests, and complex financial estates, allowing her to identify issues and advocate for her clients in ways that many family law attorneys simply cannot.

Shelly is a proud member of the State Bar of Texas and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas, including their respective bankruptcy courts.

She is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.

Shelly earned her Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law, her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Dallas, and a paralegal certification from Southern Methodist University.

Outside of the office, Shelly is a devoted wife, mother, and stepmother who understands firsthand the importance of family, as well as the aspects of single parenthood.

She is an animal lover who enjoys sports and the outdoors. That same warmth and genuine care for people carries into her practice every day. She approaches every client with empathy and a deep commitment to helping them find a path forward, because she knows that behind every case is a real person whose life is being reshaped, and they deserve an advocate who truly cares.
