These terms govern your use of this website, the tools on it, and the AI intake assistant. They are short on purpose. The two that matter most are that nothing here is legal advice, and that using this site does not make us your lawyers.
Effective August 17, 2026. Last updated August 17, 2026.
This website is operated by Family Law of North Texas, LLC. By using it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms apply together with our privacy policy and the notices on our disclaimers page, all of which are part of this agreement.
2. This site is legal advertising, not legal advice
This website is legal advertising material. Everything on it, including articles, answers, calculators, and anything the AI assistant says, is general information about Texas family law. It is not legal advice and it is not a legal opinion about your situation.
Family law turns on facts. Two matters that look identical in a summary can come out differently because of a date, a county, a prior order, or a single piece of evidence. Do not act or decline to act on anything you read here without talking to a lawyer about your own facts. Past results described on this site depend on the facts and law of those matters and do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any future matter.
3. No attorney-client relationship
Using this site, submitting a form, calling, emailing, or chatting with the assistant does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is formed only upon execution of a written engagement agreement.
Until that agreement exists, information you send us may not be confidential and is generally not privileged. We may already represent an adverse party. Do not send us documents or sensitive details about your matter before we confirm that we can represent you.
The Free Case Alignment Review is a 15 minute fit and jurisdiction screening conducted by intake staff. It is not legal advice and is not protected by attorney-client privilege. Legal advice is provided only during a paid Attorney Strategy Consultation.
4. Where we are licensed
Our attorneys are licensed in Texas, and the content of this site addresses Texas law and Texas courts. Nothing on this site is an offer to represent you in a state where our attorneys are not licensed, and nothing here should be read as advice about the law of any other state. If your matter belongs in another state, tell us and we will say so.
No attorney at the firm is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization unless the individual attorney profile expressly says so.
5. Using the AI intake assistant
The chat window on this site is an automated assistant powered by a third-party language model. These terms apply every time you use it.
It is a triage tool, not a lawyer. It gives general information and helps route you to the right next step. It does not give legal advice, does not evaluate your matter, and does not quote a price for your matter.
It can be wrong. Language models can produce statements that are inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, including about statutes, deadlines, and court procedure. We review and constrain what it can say, and we verify the citations that appear on this site, but you may not rely on anything the assistant tells you as a statement of law. Confirm it with an attorney before you act.
It is not for emergencies. If you or a child is in immediate danger, call 911. If you need help leaving an abusive situation, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233. Do not wait on a chat reply.
It is not confidential and not privileged. Conversations are stored by the firm and reviewed by staff, and message text is sent to our AI provider to generate replies. Section 4 of the privacy policy explains exactly where it goes.
Do not submit other people information. Do not enter another person financial account numbers, government identifiers, medical records, or login credentials into the assistant. Do not paste documents into it.
Do not attempt to manipulate it. You may not try to extract its instructions, bypass its safety rules, induce it to produce legal advice or an outcome promise, impersonate the firm or its staff, or use it to generate content for any purpose other than your own inquiry.
Do not automate it. Scripted, scraped, or high volume access is prohibited. We rate limit the assistant and may block access without notice.
It may change or disappear. We may modify, suspend, or withdraw the assistant at any time. We do not guarantee it will be available, and we are not liable for it being unavailable. The phone number on this site always works as an alternative.
Nothing the assistant says binds the firm. No fee, no engagement, no deadline, and no commitment is created by an automated reply. Only a signed engagement agreement does that.
6. Using the estimator and the custody calendar
The cost estimator produces an illustrative range based on the answers you give. It is not a quote, not an offer, and not a cap. What a matter actually costs depends on facts we have not seen and on choices the other side makes.
The custody calendar renders what a standard possession schedule under the Texas Family Code would look like on a calendar, given the inputs you provide. It is an illustration only. It is not a court order, it does not reflect any order in your matter, and it may not account for a term your own order contains. Your signed order controls. Read it, and ask a lawyer if it is unclear.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
use this site for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, threaten, or defame anyone
submit false information, impersonate another person, or submit someone information without their permission
scrape, crawl, harvest email addresses, or copy the site in bulk by any automated means
interfere with the site, probe or test its security, or attempt to gain access to any system or data you are not authorized to reach
upload malware, or use the site to transmit unsolicited commercial messages
reproduce or republish substantial portions of this site content without written permission
We may suspend or block access to anyone who breaks these rules, without notice.
8. Content ownership
The text, design, photographs, illustrations, code, and tools on this site are owned by Family Law of North Texas, LLC or licensed to it, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may read, print, and share individual pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, with attribution and without alteration. Every other use requires our written permission.
Statutes, rules, and court opinions quoted on this site are public texts. Our selection, arrangement, and commentary are not.
9. What you send us
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you submit. Do not send confidential or sensitive material before an engagement agreement is signed, and understand that unsolicited material may not be treated as confidential.
If you send us feedback, a suggestion, or an idea about this site, you agree we may use it without restriction and without owing you anything for it. This does not apply to information about your matter, which is governed by section 3 and by the privacy policy.
10. Third-party links and services
This site links to courts, statutes, bar resources, and other outside pages, and relies on third-party services for hosting, analytics, chat, contact verification, and email. We do not control those sites or services, we do not endorse their content by linking to them, and we are not responsible for them. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.
11. No warranties
This website and everything on it are provided on an as is and as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error free operation.
We work to keep this site accurate and current, and legal citations on it are verified against the Texas Family Code and official sources. Even so, the law changes, and we do not warrant that any page reflects the law as it stands on the day you read it.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Family Law of North Texas, LLC and its attorneys and staff are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, this website, its tools, or the AI assistant, including any damages arising from reliance on information found here. Our total liability for any claim relating to this website is limited to 100 US dollars.
This section is about the website. It does not limit, and is not intended to limit, any duty or liability the firm owes to a client for legal services under an engagement agreement. Texas law does not permit a lawyer to limit malpractice liability to a client prospectively, and nothing here attempts to.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Family Law of North Texas, LLC, its attorneys, and its staff from any claim, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorney fees, arising out of your breach of these terms, your misuse of this site or the assistant, or your submission of another person information without permission.
14. Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of these terms or your use of this website shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Collin County, Texas, and you consent to that venue.
These terms contain no arbitration clause and no class action waiver. A dispute about your legal matter, as opposed to your use of this website, is governed by your engagement agreement.
15. Accessibility
We build and test this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA. We do not claim that every page meets every criterion at every moment, and we would rather hear about a failure than have you work around it. If any page or tool is difficult for you to use with a screen reader, keyboard, magnifier, or any other assistive technology, tell us and we will fix it and give you the information another way in the meantime. Call (945) 300-5522 or use the details in section 18.
16. Copyright complaints
If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, send us a written notice at the address in section 18 identifying the work, identifying the page and material you say infringes it, giving your contact details, and stating under penalty of perjury that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner and that the use is not authorized. We will investigate and remove infringing material.
17. Changes, severability, and waiver
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top tells you which version you are reading, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force and the unenforceable provision is limited to the minimum extent necessary. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
